English Abstract: The paper discusses the genesis of Culture/Cultural Studies in the context of two disciplinary technologies, two surrogated subject, viz. Anthropology and Folklore. The author also discussed the role of student revolution, 1968 as that triggered rearrangements and restructurings of institutionalized academics.
